Christmas 2026 Last Order Dates for Personalised Gifts

The last date to order personalised Christmas gifts from us is Friday 11 December 2026. Order by then and your baubles, Christmas Eve box names and Christmas place names are on track to arrive before Christmas Day.
That's about a week earlier than Royal Mail's last posting dates, and if you've landed here in mid-December with a growing sense of dread, that gap is the first thing worth understanding. A personalised piece doesn't exist yet when you order it. It's designed around your wording, checked by you, then made by hand, and all of that happens before the post even begins. This page explains how the dates fit together, which pieces to order first, and what to do if you've cut it fine.
What is the last order date for personalised Christmas gifts in 2026?
Friday 11 December 2026 applies to everything personalised in our Christmas range: name baubles, Christmas Eve box names, Christmas place names for the dinner table and stocking names. It's one date for the whole range, so you can put everything in a single order and stop thinking about it.
It's a cut-off, not a target. Most of the pieces people care most about are worth ordering well before it, for reasons that have nothing to do with the post and everything to do with having time to get the wording right.
Why our date is a week before Royal Mail's
Three things happen between your order and your doorstep. First, your wording is checked: you confirm the spelling in the live preview as you order, or, for bespoke signs and place names, we send you a free digital proof. Nothing bespoke is cut until you approve it. Second, we make your piece in 3–5 working days in our UK studio. Third, it travels by Royal Mail Tracked 48 or Tracked 24.
Our making time counts working days, Monday to Friday, and that's where December catches people out. Say you order place names on Friday 11 December and approve your proof on Monday 14 December. Five working days of making can run to Monday 21 December, which is Royal Mail's last recommended posting date for Tracked 24. That's why the 11th is the line: it's the latest point at which the sums still work if everything else goes smoothly.
The same sums explain why, for place names and other bespoke pieces, replying to your proof promptly matters so much in December. Making starts when you approve, so a proof that sits unopened over a weekend pushes every later step back by the same amount.
Royal Mail's last posting dates for Christmas 2026
These are from Royal Mail's "Get ready for Christmas 2026" guidance for UK delivery. Royal Mail can change them, so check royalmail.com before you post anything yourself.
| Service | Last recommended posting date |
|---|---|
| 2nd Class | Friday 18 December 2026 |
| Tracked 48 | Saturday 19 December 2026 |
| 1st Class | Monday 21 December 2026 |
| Tracked 24 | Monday 21 December 2026 |
| Special Delivery Guaranteed | Wednesday 23 December 2026 |
These dates matter most if you're going to send a gift on yourself. Say you order a bauble for your grandmother, have it delivered to you so you can add a card, then post it to her. You need our making time, our delivery to you and then your own posting time, so you'd want to order closer to the start of December than the 11th.
Which Christmas pieces should you order first?
Some pieces carry more weight than others, and those deserve more time than a deadline allows.
A baby's first Christmas bauble is the one to order first, ideally in October or November. Part of the point is that it hangs on the tree all season, in the photos, on the first Christmas morning. A bauble that arrives on 22 December gets three days of that. If you're unsure what to put on it, our guide to baby's first Christmas bauble wording has ideas, and keeping the text short matters on a small bauble.
Memorial baubles need time for a different reason. The wording is often something you'll want to talk over with family, and that conversation shouldn't be rushed by a postal date. Our gentle memorial bauble wording may help you find a starting point.
For a couple's first Christmas, whether married, engaged or in a first home together, November is a comfortable time to order. Our Our First Christmas bauble ideas cover each of those.
Christmas place names are the exception, and the one piece where waiting makes sense. Guest lists for Christmas dinner change right up to December, so confirm numbers in the first week, order before the 11th, and add a spare name for the person who'll inevitably be invited at the last minute.
Keeping a personalised order on track
A few small habits do most of the work in December.
- Settle the wording before you order. Check how names and nicknames are spelled with someone who knows. It's the step people rush, and the one that's hardest to fix later.
- Read your wording aloud. Dates, apostrophes and double letters are much easier to catch when you say them.
- Choose Tracked 24 if time is tight. It's the faster of our two tracked services.
- Put everything in one order. It's simpler to track, and UK delivery is free on orders over £45.
What if you miss the last order date?
We'll still make your piece with exactly the same care, but we can't promise it will arrive before Christmas. If you need something in someone's hands on Christmas Day for certain, a personalised piece ordered late in December isn't the safe choice, and we'd rather tell you that now.
It's worth remembering, though, that a bauble is hung every year. One that arrives in January has decades of Christmases ahead of it. A handwritten card on Christmas morning saying "yours is being made" can be a lovely gift in its own right, with the real thing arriving as a second surprise.
How we make it
Every piece is personalised by us and made by hand in our UK studio. You see exactly how your names and dates will look before we start, in the live preview for gifts and baubles or on a free digital proof for bespoke signs and place names. You can read the full process in how personalisation works.
Where to start
For the tree, start with our personalised Christmas baubles, where a name bauble is £14, and our complete guide to personalised baubles for styles and wording. Our Christmas place names and Christmas Eve box names can go in the same order.
